§ g. How can you participate?
Presentation proposals for papers and contributions

The First FIMAM Congress is set within the background of the original philosophy of the Forum. From the beginning, the ideas of "encounter" and "meeting" have been the axis of FIMAM. This means that contact and exchange among researchers, constructive and reflexive discussion on works, in an open and critical approach are still priorities. That's why the Congress is open to anyone wishing to present their work following this philosophy, that is, with no discrimination beyond the interest in the work's content, whether it is by an inexperienced or a known author. From this point of view, the selection of papers will be done according to scientific criteria. Therefore, positive and negative evaluations will be announced to the authors, so that, in case of a negative evaluation, they can rework on their text, and in case of disagreement from the author, they can reply to the Scientific Committee. To sum up, a negative evaluation does not mean an exclusion of the Congress.

Anyone interested can present proposals of papers and contributions related to the panels. Since the panels are broadly-based in its topics, the authors may have to propose one of them for the presentation of their work. Nevertheless, for a better organization of the congress, the scientific committee will decide the distribution of papers and contributions.

Registration of papers and contributions will start in July 2004 and will end on January 15th, 2005.

The proposals of papers and contributions must include an extended presentation of its content and a bibliography as complete as possible. Those proposals of papers and contributions received as a working paper will have preference.

All speakers who previously request it may publish their work in the Forum of the FIMAM Congress, in order to facilitate the pre-congressual debate. Those authors who have published their work in the Forum will have preference in the presentations of their papers and contributions during the face-to-face sessions of the congress.

Pre-congressual debate will take place through the distribution list of FIMAM:
fimamsp@elistas.net
Anyone interested in participate in the debate (non members of the FIMAM list) will have to send and e-mail to register in the list:
ferran.izquierdo@uab.es

The papers and contributions will be read and evaluated by different members of the scientific committee of the congress. The scientific committee, acting as referee, will decide about the publication of papers and contributions in the journal and the records of the congress. The scientific committee will decide about the presentation of papers and contributions in the face-to-face sessions of the congress before February 15th, 2005.
